Hi, I'm Nicole and I've always loved creating. As a kid, I loved craft projects with my grandma. As a young adult, it was scrapbooking. And now, it's print materials, websites and marketing strategies.

After earning a Business Administration BS from the University of Minnesota Duluth, I took a job near my home town working in higher education as an online student success coach recruiting students using social tools, communicating primarily by email and retaining students with creative advising strategies.

Eleven short years later, I decided to make a career shift and took a full-time position as an Inside Sales Coordinator for a local manufacturing company that sells heavy duty truck parts. This position allowed me to learn more about customer service, sales strategy and networking. In spring 2020 (in the midst of a global pandemic), I decided to work from home full-time for our family business, taking on office duties and plan drawing.

I live in Perham, MN with my husband, three kids and our dog. We love camping and other outdoor activities, and creating at home too. All of us have a creative outlet of some sort (i.e. chainsaw sculpting, painting, baking, Lego creation).

EXPERIENCE

Since launching in 2017, I have developed several local websites. Each presented it's own unique challenge: online shop, system integration, SEO optimization, gallery showcase, etc. Learn more about my website projects on the Projects page.

In my past careers, I managed social media accounts for partners in Facebook, Twitter, Wordpress, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+ and other networks -- all with an eye for increasing brand awareness and broadening reach. As I learned more on the job, I took what I knew and applied it to nonprofit organizations I volunteer with. I currently assist with several different community organizations.

In event promotion and print materials, I have years of experience in promoting events, fundraisers and more for community organizations - responsible for creating much of the marketing material (online and print). I have also designed print materials for individuals for weddings, baby showers, Christmas cards and more.

EDUCATION

In my pursuit of knowledge on the subject, I have completed a Social Media Strategist Certificate with Dakota County Technical College, finished a introductory Adobe Photoshop course, as well as advertising coursework through Northland Community and Technical College.

EXPECTATION

In my work, I am driven to create social content that will have the farthest reach and produce the most results -- whether that be increased awareness, sales, website traffic, etc. I have also assisted several clients with website development and SEO to help grow their business presence online.
